Author Event - Arp Elem.

I went to Arp Elementary this past Friday (March 28th) an had so much fun. I talked with 2nd grade through 5th about my books, writing techniques, imagination, and how I came up with the idea for my book. I got some great questions from all the grades and even some of the teachers. One lucky 5th grader even received a free signed copy of my book.
Afterwards, I walked offstage and was bombarded with kids wanting autographs and pictures. I even sold all of the books that I had with me.
Later that day, after I'd taken my leave, the woman who invited me to the school emailed me and said that all the student were writing stories in their free time and that I truly inspired them. It made my day to see the whole elementary affected by my book and I.

Speaking Up: Emily's GOD'S NOT DEAD Story

This has nothing to do with me or my books, HOWEVER, this story really moved me. I am subscribed to the God's Not Dead newsletter and I received an email with the following story in it:
A senior at Missouri State University majoring in social work, Emily was assigned by one of her professors the task of writing state legislature in support of foster care and adoptions by same-sex couples.
Emily respectfully asked for a different assignment—one that wouldn't require her to take a moral stance she didn't believe in. Instead, the professor filed charges with a faculty ethics committee that grilled Emily about her Christian faith for hours. When she refused to back down, they insisted that she sign a contract vowing to "close the gap" between her faith and the social work program, or else, she couldn't graduate.
Once she had her diploma in hand, with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom, Emily took legal action against the school for violating her freedom of religious expression.

I commend Emily for sticking to her faith when it was tested.

The Resistance: Carter cover

Here is the cover for the first book in The Resistance Series.

Author Bio

My name is Tristen Evans (duhh haha). I'm a sixteen year old writer/author from east Texas. I live on a ranch with cows, horses, pigs and dogs, however I've always been drawn to writing. I started what was to become "The Resistance" in when I was 13 and finished it when I was in 15. I self published with CreateSpace in 2013 only to realize soon after that many indie book stores refuse to buy Amazon/CreateSpace books. Now I'm looking for a literary agent to get my book back on track to be a major hit.

Random stuff about me: I love riding horses. I'm homeschooling for the last three years of high school. I'm a Christian. I love hanging out with my family and friends from church.

Family Facts: I have two brothers named Trace and Tucker. My parents names are Tracy(dad) and Heather(mom). I have a cousin named Cassidy. Every Sunday, my grandparents cook after church and the family comes out and we all eat together.

Pet Facts:
I have a pig, a cat, four horses, three dogs and a TON of cows. My pig's name is Charlotte. My dogs' names are Miley, Lily and Henry. Horses' names: Hank, Tuff, Gracie and Dakota. A few of the cows that we named are: Lil Mamma, Carrot Top, Jersey, Brownie, Sarah, Hope, Hannah and Blue.

So there's a little bit about me..
